Accredited calibration at AVL DiTEST:
Maximum quality at all sites!

As the first manufacturer of emissions testing devices, the AVL DiTEST Service Center has received successful accreditation in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and expanded its existing services (annual servicing, gauging, warranty extension, next day replacement equipment) to include calibration.
In order to meet increasing market demands, the site in Graz was also able to obtain accreditation in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. Thanks to optimised processes, AVL DiTEST can respond more flexibly to customer requirements.

The new legal guideline - valid since the start of January 2019 in Germany - prescribes not only mandatory gauging but also annual, traceable calibration of emissions testing devices. With the independent calibration laboratory at the site in Cadolzburg, Germany, AVL DiTEST enables its customers and partners to perform traceable calibration of all emissions testing devices, adding further useful service benefits.

In addition to the central Service Center, customers and partners of AVL DiTEST also benefit from high quality standards and a unique replacement concept for petrol and diesel emission measuring equipment. This allows for rapid availability of replacement devices and minimum effort due to a clever plug & play principle. The calibration laboratory at the site in Graz has been accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 since April 2020. Here, in addition to day-to-day operations, work is being carried out on an expansion to include the particle concentration variable so that future requirements for calibrating the AVL DiTEST counter will be fulfilled.

WE HAVE THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION - ACCREDITED

For whom does the emissions testing device calibration guideline apply?

For all users of emissions testing devices.

For which devices is the calibration guideline applicable?

For all emission measuring equipment used for official emissions testing.

How should I proceed if my emissions testing device is due for servicing/gauging after 01/01/2019?

After servicing, the device must be calibrated in accordance with the emissions testing device calibration guideline. Gauging is then performed. So that we do not need to rely on several service providers, AVL DiTEST offers a service contract that combines all necessary activities.

What does this mean for my devices?

The devices must be subject to annual calibration as well as annual gauging. New devices must only be put into operation with a valid calibration certificate (note: proof of passed calibration). For the repair of devices, calibration in accordance with the emissions testing calibration guideline is required as of 01/01/2019.

As an existing customer, I have a service contract. Does this cover calibration?

When entering into a new service contract with AVL DiTEST, calibration in accordance with the emissions testing calibration guideline will be included in future. Existing customers with a service contract can expand this to cover calibration.

I have not had servicing and gauging performed on my emissions testing device by AVL DiTEST before. What options do I have as of 01/01/2019?

The AVL DiTEST service contract offers you a complete package that includes annual servicing, gauging, calibration and warranty extension - all as part of a next day replacement equipment service. Should you not wish to benefit from the advantages of the service contract, the Service Center at AVL DiTEST also offers calibration as a separate service. Alternatively, you can also commission other accredited service providers. If calibration is not performed by the AVL DiTEST replacement equipment service, gauging must still be performed by the gauging office.

I have heard about transitional arrangements. Do I have to have my device calibrated now?

The legal calibration requirement is in force as of 01/01/2019. Moreover, we assume that at least some transitional arrangements will be withdrawn in the short term, as a sufficient number of calibration laboratories have now been accredited. To be on the safe side and to avoid bottlenecks or even waiting times, we recommend having all devices calibrated at the next regular interval.
