AVL DiTEST wins two Automechanika Innovation Awards 2018

FRANKFURT/GRAZ/CADOLZBURG – Exciting innovations and high emotions at Automechanika 2018: AVL DiTEST is honoured in five categories with the coveted Innovation Award. The expert jury was particularly impressed with the acoustic camera (ACAM) and the Multisense 1000, which emerged as the winners of the Repair & Diagnostics and Classic Cars Products & Services categories. The company was also distinguished twice as a finalist and once as a nominee.

Pioneering measurement and diagnostic technology to meet any challenge

As specialists in testing and measuring technology, AVL DiTEST were declared winners of the coveted Innovation Award at Automechanika 2018 in Frankfurt in the categories of Repair & Diagnostics and Classic Cars Products & Services. The AVL DiTEST ACAM made an impression in the Repair & Diagnostics category with innovative technology that enables interior noise to be localised, leak tests to be conducted and increased bearing noises or chain noises in the engine bay to be identified in no time at all. The "acoustic camera" is particularly useful for hybrid and electric vehicles, where unwelcome noises are perceived to be louder due to the fact that these vehicles are quieter in general.

The multifunction sensor AVL DiTEST Multisense 1000 was also a convincing entry in the Classic Cars Products & Services category, where it was declared to be the winner. As an optimum addition to products in the Scope range, this instrument makes mechanical and non-electrical variables visible and measurable. Comprehensive sensor technology, such as a stroboscope, a dynamic microphone or an optical light reflection sensor, enables this verification of fault sources at a very early stage. This facilitates and accelerates the repair process in the workshop.

In the Truck Products & Services category, the AVL DiTEST SCR Manipulation Detector (AdBlue®) emerged as one of the finalists. Measurement and interpretation is conducted using the AVL DiTEST XDS 1000 diagnostic software. This enables a purely electronic display of system manipulations. A mechanical inspection of the AdBlue® system is not required. The result is a consistently simple, reliable, speedy and, above all, interpretation-free measurement.

Another finalist was the AVL DiTEST HV Safety MixedRealityGuide in the Alternative Drive Systems & Digital Solutions category. The interactive training system for e-mobility applications overlays the environment and the measuring equipment with virtual components that are projected directly into the service engineer's field of vision. Maintenance and repair tasks can thus be completed in a way that is both innovative and practical, in safe conditions. This system is ideal for training.

In the Repair & Maintenance category, the AVL DiTEST PN Detector was distinguished as a nominee. The innovative module for particle counting represents an outstanding solution for the change in legislation scheduled for 2021 and is ideal for stationary and portable use in the course of periodic technical inspection. The sensor principle of the "particle counter" is based on the electrical charging principle and is further distinguished by a particularly large measurement range and high sensitivity. This enables the function and status of the particle filter to be assessed immediately.
